This year parallel to Groundhog's Day, our middle school kids started talking about Signs of Spring for Shageluk since we don't have Groundhogs here! In addition, our school kids have started to study Phenology, observing things in nature and birds. In preparation of the Great Backyard Bird Count we studied winter birds that we usually see at our feeders here in Shageluk and then made our own bird book for people to use at home during the GBBC!
