On Febuary 28, taking his life into his own hands as he passed under the avalanching snow off the Innoko River School, Jack dove into the fallen snow to save a Pine Grosbeak!

As the story goes, the female Pine Grosbeak became disoriented after she hit the window following her luinch at our school feeder. She sat quivering in the snow under the window. She seemed ok, just a bit stunned until we heard the sudden rush of the melting snow off the roof. Jack LEAPED into action, rushed out of the school, dug in the snow for all he was worth and saved the bird! To you, Jack, we award the Innoko River School Medal of Bravery and Heroics for saving the beautiful bird during an avalanche!
