In our third year of our scientific GLOBE investigations of our fire site, we documented new growth, variations and quantity. New growth we found exhibited willows of approximately a meter in height, sedges and of course and abundance of fireweed. Horsetails (a.k.a. Goosegrass) was not a prolific as it was after the first year of the fire. Because of the shortness of our fall, students only had a couple of weeks in September and October to gather data before the first snows. Check out our "Site A" GLOBE study site which is our comparative standard site to the fire site.
